i would like to upload some videos to you tube.
create my own videos from different movies.(SCIFI,HORROR,ETC...)
i saw WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER but it seems you can only edit or create HOME MOVIES.
i want to edit and create movies from dvds.(WHEN I SAY DVDS, I MEAN ALREADY MADE MOVIES.LIKE RESIDENT EVIL OR ALIENS)
what MOVIE MAKER PROGRAM SHOULD I BUY?
Movie Makers?
try www.download.com and search for the latest video editing software. my cousin is in the video business. He paid $130.00 for some software....but on download they have a try before you buy on many of those. In other words there free, but only do limited things...you can't save your work after you edit it things of that nature.

Old movie, like Jane Eyre, hands hit with metal rod.?
When I was very young I saw a movie... it was old, and had the same feel as Jane Eyre and other similar movies. Sadly all I remember is that there's a girl in an abusive school-like environment, and one of the ways the girls are punished is by having their hands beaten with a metal rod. One of the girls comments that she would not let it happen to her and would rip the rod out of the teacher's (?) hands and hit her with it. In fact, I was sure the movie was one of the Jane Eyre movies, but having watched them this particular event never happened in any of them. Does anyone know the movie I'm talking about? I usually dislike movies that are "historical" and I rarely watch them, but for some reason I really want to watch this one. I'll feel stupid if this is some really famous and well-known movie.
Old movie, like Jane Eyre, hands hit with metal rod.?
Maybe the older version of Little Women? There's a scene in the book where Amy is punished in this way. Someone saying that they would "rip the rod out of the teacher's hands" sounds like something Jo would say.

Do movie directors even audition some actors for movies or do they just hire because of how famous they are?
Have you ever seen a movie with a big celebrity in it, but they can't act and you wondered how they got a part in that movie? I have many of times! So, my question, do famous people only get picked for a movie simply because they are famous? Do celebrities get picked for a movies because they know that people are going see the movie based on a person fame? What do you think? Tell me what movies that you saw that disappointed you or what you think directors really do!!!!!!!
Do movie directors even audition some actors for movies or do they just hire because of how famous they are?
I'm sure that some (bad) directors just give parts to celebrities because they think that just having someone famous in their movie will make it good, but any director worth his salt knows that you've gotta pick someone who's right for the part. Even if an actor is good, they might not fit the part of a charecter in the movie, so casting them as such would ruin it.
Reply:I'm not totally sure... but I'd guess that all actors have to do a screen test of some sort ... but some writers for movies actually see a person that they want and write the character for that actual actor. If they actually get the person is a different story.
Reply:most actors, no matter how famous they are have to audition for some roles in movies, but there are also other roles in movies created especially for that actor.
Reply:some directors have a particular actor/actress in mind for the part as well as writers when their writing the script. the parts are sometimes made for that particualr person rather than have auditions.
Reply:If this question was multiple choice, the correct answer is...
D) All of the above.
The movie industry is one of the most insane and chaotic things out there. If psychiatrists examined the business of it as a whole, they would require straitjackets afterward.
As far as auditions go, some do and some don't. Many times the response will be simply the actor doesn't do auditions, so the producer or director can either take it or leave it.
Other times, a manager or agency will help package a project with a group of talent he or she represents...which can be three decent actors and then one clunker. But it's a packaged deal...so once again; take it or leave it.
Sometimes people will pick up people just because they have name recognition in the public: not because of their skill but because people are already familiar with their name. A lot of movie companies (the ones who put their money on the line as far as the project's budget is concerned) merely ask "who's in it" rather than what their acting credentials are. Most times like these is when a director will say the names they have "attached" to the project. This doesn't mean there is a contract necessarily...just the word of an actor or his/her agent which means they might do it if there's already money in place.
In a lot of cases, the people with the money or the studio will insist that so-and-so goes in the movie. Most directors don't have a enough power to deny the suits, so they can either take the actor on and know the movie will continue to have funding - or refuse and suffer whatever consequences lie ahead.
For the "directing" part of your question: no two directors are the same as far as operating a production. Some are more hands-on while others step back and delegate a lot of the authority to the others working on the project.
The most common analogy is the director is the captain of the ship. The ability of the captain can directly affect the operation and outcome of a ship. You can have the most expensive ship in the world, or the best deck swabbers this side of the equator, but that ship can still sink.
If the director doesn't have a clue, his or her decisions can jeopardize the entire production. If he is sleeping with a bad actress, then he might feel obligated to place her in a prize role despite her ability. Or an actor totally wrong for a part ended up as the lead due to the fact he was the only one available during the days shooting.
One of the best and more current books out there is called Shoot Out: Surviving the Fame and (Mis) Fortune of Hollywood. It's by Peter Bart and Peter Guber - two who have been there and seen about all of it from the sixties up through today. There are a ton of stories about temperamental actors, directors, and even movie studios as well as projects which were severely altered or never even made. Just skimming the bios of the authors should be enough credibility.
They also have a great show called Sunday Morning Shootout on the AMC cable network. That sereis still airs most Sundays and have eipsodes available on DVD and also free clips on its site (see below).
Sorry about the answer being so convoluted...but nothing seems to be easy in the movie business.

Blockbuster Online Movie Help.?
I use Blockbuster Online and I have about 15 movies in my queue. Every single movie is either long wait for very long wait. Some movies we've waited for over two and three months and still it says 'very long wait'. We're very consistent about returning them too. We don't hold on to movies long either. On that rare event that we actually get a movie that is available, we watch it and send it back soon.
Does anyone have suggestions on getting movies from Blockbuster's Online service? Why is it so impossible to get Blockbuster to send us 'available' movies? There has to be a way to actually get movies, both new and old mailed to us.
Blockbuster Online Movie Help.?
yea when i had it i waited for days(weeks) to get what i wanted too, the more rare they are the harder it is to get um to you, but if i were you id call them up and tell them what going on!

How many movie equations can you come up with?
A somewhat cursory analysis of a number of different movies and other works of fiction, led me to come up with the following mathematical equations:
V for Vendetta (the movie) = 1984 (the book) + Batman (the movie)
Crimson Tide (the movie) = Hunt for Red October (book or movie) + The Cane Mutiny (book or movie)
Boston Legal (TV Show) = The Practice (TV Show) + Ally McBeal (TV Show)
The Lyon King (Movie) = Hamlet (Play) + The Jungle Book (Movie)
How many other such equations can you come up with? "Best answer" will be chosen based on the best equations in terms of quality and quantity.
Have fun!

Eragon = Star Wars + Dragonheart
Red Planet = Mission to Mars + Pitch Black (only in theory, alas)
Hart's War = The Great Escape + Bruce Willis
Shaun of the Dead = Land of the Dead + Monty Python
300 = Three Hundred Spartans + CGI + Frank Miller
Christine = The Love Bug + Chucky

Deathrace 2000 = Cannonball Run + Faces of Death
Hook = Peter Pan + Big

Firebirds = Top Gun - F-14s + helicopters - brain cells
Bull Durham = Major League + Susan Sarandon
The Patriot = Braveheart - kilts
Jurassic Park = Alien - aliens + dinosaurs

Are you tired of movie reviewers?
I hate movie reviewrs because they suck, they give good reviews to comedys maybe 2 or 3 times a year. IE, every Adam Sandler movie ever made has gotten terrible reviews. Yet woody allen who possibly makes the least funny movies ever, is given an oscar. When are movie reviews going to realize that when i go see a comedy movie, im not going to learn something or feel sad or leave the theatre feeling like ****, i go to a comedy movie to laugh, and the movies that get bad reviews are the ones that make you laugh Exception(Borat). Most of all Anchorman got ok reviews but frankly that movie should have gotten nothing but good reviews, and put on a pedastool as one of the greatest movies ever, because it did what you paid it to do, to make you laugh, and it did it better than any other movie, damnit someone give ferrell an oscar
Are you tired of movie reviewers?
I DON'T EVEN BOTHER.....
Just because they don't like my movies, doesn't mean I have to listen to them...
Reply:They are of no use to me. I like surprises.
Reply:Seeing as movie reviews are usually the closest I get to the movies until they are on television or discounted dvd, I don't mind them or worry too much about the reviewers' opinions. At least the reviews tell you what the movies are about and who is in them etc. If you follow your logic, the reviewers are still informing you about which movies you are likely to enjoy, even if it is in a round-about way. I guess everyone values different things in a movie and actors. Good luck.
Reply:Usually(depending on the critic ) when he claims it's horrible that is my best indication that is something I would enjoy. Some of the stuff thinks is worthy is pretty lame.
Reply:LOL i absolutely agree with you!
i think the reason why these modern comedy movies get bad reviews is because so many dull people are doing the reviewing! Reviewers need to lighten up! Stop checking off the checklist and just enjoy a good laugh as Steve chugs beer down his butthole (jackass 2)!!!

How to add Movie (700mb) to my site ,,, so others can watch it ONLINE ,,thanks?
Hi all,
i am planning to make a new movies site,,,,
i want my visitors to be able to watch the movies online without downloading it,, exactly like youtube ,,,
But i have a problem:
Each movie is 700MB ,, and thats way to much size, i don't know how to reduce the size, in what format to upload the movie to my server ,, ? ...
Can you please recommend me a software that i can use to manage/decrease the size of the movies / add my own watermark to the movies/edit the movies / cut the movies and so on....
Just a question, is it ok if i upload movies to my site or all of them copyright protected,,
Thanks all for help
How to add Movie (700mb) to my site ,,, so others can watch it ONLINE ,,thanks?
Well, the best way would be to convert them all to Flash (swf) or Flash Video (flv). The software I know of to do that would be at http://www.swishzone.com/ - However, you will have to do the editing and watermarking before you convert the image by using a video editing software (I love Sony Vegas Movie Studio).

Eragon movie Analysis---Brom was about the only one able to bring his character to life despite thecheezylines
I had read the books before the movie, but here's my opinion without complaining about anything that got changed from the book to the movie. The movie to me wasn't terribly well thought out. It felt flat, cheezy, and 2D. There wasn't any character building, it was just action and a few cheezy lines thrown in. So even if you look at it from a movie viewpoint and leave out the book completely the movie still isn't any good. The special effects were nice, but special effects and action/adventure do not make a good movie. It would be whether you can bring the characters to life, that's what makes a good movie. I don't think it was entirely the actors fault either, if the scriptwriters had been better instead of writing such cliche lines and scenes, the actors might have been able to bring the characters to life better. Because the actors didn't come off as particularly bad, they just weren't being used in a good way.
Eragon movie Analysis---Brom was about the only one able to bring his character to life despite thecheezylines
I think they cut out more than they should have and Eragon comes off as your typical half-****** adolescent. I understand that they can only do so much in two hours, but I figure moviemakers should either do it right or not do it at all.
Reply:I have not read the book even though i own it but i even thought the movie was missing something i expected it to be longer

Movie with no name?
There is a movie that I remembered watching a long time ago but have trouble remembering the title of it. The movie is about a quarrel between a mother and her daughter's boyfriend. They got into conflicts and eventually I remember a scene where the mother would throw her daughter's boyfriend's clothes out the window. The boyfriend would later throw her (his girlfriend's mother) clothes out the window when she was taking a shower. The movie itself was funny, I think a romantic comedy, and in the end, the boyfriend was caught naked and arrested by the police because the mother pressed charges on him for throwing her clothes out the window and treating her badly. I can't seem to know more details than this, but this movie was funny when I watched it a long time ago. The movie itself was done in the late 80's, early 90's...I think. Please let me know if you guys can help me scoop up the name for this movie. Thanks!

Movie from the 90s, 2 boys and a girl. love triangle, ends in a hate crime youngest boy gets assaulted?
In the movie, the youngest boy and the girl are in a relationship but she starts having sex with the older boy. They are traveling around in an old car and everything comes up 666, they stop to get gas and chips/soda etc and the cost at the register is $6.66, they stay in a hotel and the room number is 666. In the end of the movie, the two boys are about to engage in some sort of intimate activity when they are attached. I saw this movie in the mid to late 90s and would like to see it again, but I don't know who stars in it or the name of the movie. If you know the movie I'm talking about, please help me remember the name of the movie. Thanks, Lacy.

Is there a movie site like www.tvshowsondvd.com where you can vote on movies not yet released on DVD?
I'm a huge fan of movies and television and I like to buy and rent DVDs. It is getting harder and harder to find some older or more obscure movies from the last 7 decades on VHS. The site I mention above for reference only. It is my hope that someone knows a movie site similar to the site. A movie site where users can vote on movies they would purchase if the movie was released on DVD. Also a site that tracks the movies that have been announced for release on DVD and notifies the users. Production Companies have admitted that they watch the site I mentioned above to follow the more popular shows voted on and give priority to releasing the shows they know will make money on (ahhh the power of voting :). Hey it’s a free poll for those dudes. Anyway does anyone know any Movie site that meets this description?
Is there a movie site like www.tvshowsondvd.com where you can vote on movies not yet released on DVD?
Not offhand and tried to search on a few different engines and came up short. My advice to you is to send email to the originating studios asking about the particular movie / series you are interested in. I'm sure you've thought of this yourself, but I'm just tryin to help.
If you do happen to find such a site, I'd like to know about it as there are a few old movies I'd like to see on DVD.....
Good Luck!

Searching for a movie title?
It's a movie about a young golfer, 12-15 years old. Part of the movie involves him playing in a father-son tournament. The father fails to call a penalty against the other team on a rule that he, the father, pointed out to his son earlier in the movie. When they get home the son stands out in the pouring rain and drives a golf ball through the window of the drivers door of his father's car. I think the movie is narrated by the son but I can't be certain. I know that it's not "The Greatest Game Ever Played". The movie I am looking for was set post 1990.

Is there a place in Bucuresti, Romania that has a large selection of vhs or dvd movies (foriegn movies, USA movies, Japanese movies, etc..., etc....) ??? I can't find any information about this anywhere, do people just download them off the internet over there? I looked at the websites for some of the movie theaters there, but they all seem to be showing the same really crappy hollywood movies from America, nothing interesting at all. Anybody know if something like Hollywood video or any local video stores exist there?
Movie DVD and VHS Rentals in Bucuresti Romania ?
Frankly, yes, here generally people just download the movies off the internet.
But there are some DVD rental shops too, see sites below.

Windows Movie Maker Issues (please help, it's urgent)?
Okay, so I have Windows Movie Maker (not sure of the exact kind but I'm pretty sure it's the newest) and it's a horrible horrible program to me. I need to make a movie for school. So, I downloaded a documentary and converted it and it comes up in my collections for WMM. I add the clips and edit them about to make the movie.
Now unto the issues... When I try to play the movie, it skips and stops suddenly on certain clips. So, I get rid of those clips. Then, it stops suddenly and skips on OTHER clips that it hadn't before.
Then, when I give up and assume that the movie's okay and try to save it as a movie file, WMM refuses to let me save it. I get the stupid 'check this or that' pop-up even though I have enough disk space and all of my files are in check.
My school project is due next monday!
So, I either need a solution to my issues. OR, another movie editing software that is better and FREE (my parents wouldn't pay for it if it wasn't).
Thanks.

Have you tried saving it as a move file? It could simply be that your computer is too slow for the preview to look properly.

Movie Help?
Hey can you guys help me find some movies! We are on break from school and my friends and i are having a movie marathon. We want like chick-flick romantic comedies!? They have to be age appropriate (parents) for 13/14 year olds, and out on DVD! Also we don't want too old ones (1980's %26amp; before), preferably not in black and white! Also i mean i know romantic movies are all kinda the same but maybe some that are not so predictable!
Likes: (we want movies we havent seen, so please dont just say watch those movies/tv show seasons)
Mean Girls
Becoming Jane
Gilmore Girls (i know not a movie, but maybe something like it)
27 Dresses
Legally Blonde
13 going on 30
Thanks so much, in advance! (i promise i'll give best answer too)

- a family movie with cute lil kid, good storyline. You girls will be like ahhhhh, so cuter.
Sisterhood of the traveling pants
- cute story, multiple characters, great settings in Greece.
Pan's Labyrinth
- this one is more dark, set in war time but told by a little girl's point of view %26amp; her fantasies
.
Reply:You should give Love Actually a try. It's really sweet and funny.
Reply:Becoming Jane was , Horrible. Do not rent it. Mean girls, Legally Blonde and 13 going on 30 are great.
A good girlie movie is Aquamarine, it's cute and very appropriate. 13 Going On 30 especially is great.
Another good romantic comedy is She's The Man with Amanda Bynes.
Sydney White is also good.

Harry Potter OOTP Movie - Weak???
So I just watch OOTP and I have seen all the movies, own all the books, and I got to thinking, this movie that just came out, was kinda weak. The characters are no longer attached as they have been in the past movies, not to mention the story line was dragged out to long and mistakes were made from the book version that could have been fixed (i.e. Neville finding the ROR, Cho being the culprit) I understand this is a movie, and it is meant to be a entertaining experience, but I think the "majic" of the previous four were not present in this installment. Sorry, I think this movie got a little bit of Star Wars-ish towards the end, anyone agree? So my question is, JK Rowling was so persistant on keeping the movie along the lines of the book, what happened? Why did critics give it a massive A+? Is it because people only saw it for the movie, having never read the book..perhaps I am over-analyzing this. I think the other movies did a great job in keeping with the movie, why not this one? :)
Harry Potter OOTP Movie - Weak???
I agree with you on several points. Oh my gosh! I totally thought the Star Wars thing myself! I am not kidding! I thought that too in another one, during Qudditch, but just the music %26amp; flying around. This seemed a little Star Wars to me.
I know you can not put every single thing from the book in a movie, or it will be like 8hours long.
I really enjoyed all the books so far, and the movies. I mean in the GOF I was a little upset about SPEW not being in there.
In the OOTP, it was good, the effects were good, but I was dissappointed that the memories of Snape weren't a little longer. They needn't be like 5 minutes, but I thought a little longer. Why wasn't Cho's friend in the mix? That couldn't of added much time to the film, and wasn't the GOF longer? I was very pleased with that film, except what I stated earlier.
You have to remember, a different director, again with this. Not sure about screenplay %26amp; all that.
I just hope the HPB gives more details, I would hate for the remaining 2 Potter films to be less than OOTP.

Reply:You're over analyzing.
Anytime a novel is turned into a film, there are aspects which fans of the books will take fault with. This seems to happen everytime a new Harry Potter film is released. There is just no way to take all the detail from a novel and smash it into a 2.5 hour movie...it's just too much stuff.
You should look at it as if they would have never made it. Think about how you would like it if NO Harry Potter movies were available, then you will be more thankful for the ones that are out there.

Reply:i dont think any of the movies where really that good, in terms of staying true to the origional books. part of the problem is that the books keep getting longer, but they cant just keep making the films longer, noone wants to sit in a cinema for hours. so they have to cut more and more out, and for it to still make sense if people havent read the books, which is important, they have to make adjustments in the plot. i try not to compare the books and the films purely for the fact that, if there where no books, the films would actualy be really quite good, its just that over analyzing and comparing ruins the films
Reply:I agree. I didn't like the ending much. Too flashy and quick. Hard to follow who was fighting who. I don't remember all the prophercy balls breaking in the book. I think it was the tank full of time turners.
Lots of things left out and things out of sequence; Fred %26amp; George's fireworks, display for one. Neville did not tell Harry about his parents in the book. Didn't he learn that from Dumbledore?
The part about Luna's father being the editor of a rival paper and doing an exclusive story on Harry was left out. That story helped people start believing in Harry again.
The actor that played Uncle Vernon looked ill to me. I liked Harry's hair unruly.
Reply:I have also watched.it was OK...My personalfavorite is Prisoner of Azkaban but counting from 10 I would give 8/10 including that the film isnot that childish, the brilliant cast and the visuals....But it's not weak maybe it seems to u so because it's a new director..hm???

What was the last Robin Williams movie to get goo reviews from the movie critics?
I know that Robin Williams has a new movie out tommrrow called "August Rush", and tonight I see that the movie is getting 39% rotten from the movie critics on RottenTomatoes.com. But what was the last movie that he did, that pretty much got good reviews from the movie critics? I know that he had been in movies that gotten good reviews, and pretty much all of them haven been his serious movies, and I know that he 2 movies in 2002, that got good reviews from the movie critics Insomia and One Hour Photo? But those 2 can't be one of the last movies that he got good reviews in. But if you know your soruce of what was the last movie that he scored good reviews with, please post a link.

What movies are spoofed in the movie "Date Movie"?
I was wondering what movies had been spoofed in "Date Movie"? And I was wondering when or what scenes from those movies are being parodied. I know what a bunch of them are like the "When Harry Met Sally" scene but someone said that A Lot Like Love was spoofed and I don't remember what was used from that movie. Build your movie with a few simple drag-and-drops. Delete bad shots and include only the best scenes. Then share your movie via the Web, e-mail, or CD. Using third-party software you can even take movies you've made and turn them into DVDs. You can also save your movie back to the video tape in your camera to play back on a TV or on the camera itself.

Requirements for video capture
You will also need a way to get your videos into your computer. This requires different capture hardware depending on the source of your video.
If you have a digital video (DV) camera, you'll need either an IEEE 1394 card or an analog video capture card. IEEE 1394 is recommended for the best quality results. Many new computers come with an IEEE 1394 card already installed. If not, there are a number of manufacturers that make a card that will work with your computer.
If you have an analog video camera or a VCR, you will need to have an analog video capture card.

Movie with a girl question....?
Me and this girl have been friends since about 6th grade(5 years). We haven't even see each other this summer though. We're planning on going to a movie tonight. All of a sudden she was like, hey let's go cheap seats. Does this mean anything? Like we should make out or something? I've always liked her and I kinda want to go out with her. Problem is I go to an all guys school and she goes to public. We went to the same school up to freshman years... Should I make a move?
cheap seats mean older movies that play in theatres...like movies not in the new ones but not out on video...tickets are 4 dollars or something....
If I should tell her how I feel, how do I say it to her?
Also, what kind of movie is a good movie to go to? Horror could make us hug, but what movie is a good one to make out in?
Oh yeah, money isn't a problem for her either...
Movie with a girl question....?
she could possibly just wanna see one of those movies. i love going to those kind of movies personally. But before you make you move... read her body language. if she starts touching you( not necessarily in the sexy way) that could be a sign of flirtation. another thing to ask yourself is " has she ever talked with me about other guy problems?" if so it's almost a lost cause. let her pick the seats. if they are in the back... good sign. if not no biggie. just be on the look out. look for any staring or cute little looks. also... if she is dressed really nice like... then that is really good. so just for safety you should dress nice too. not going to a wedding nice. lol. but collared shirt, nice jeans and some clean tennis shoes. and some cologne. good luck my man.
Reply:Don't 'make a move' unless you think she feels the same way. If nothing happens, talk to her after you hang out about how you feel. There's nothing specific you should say.
Maybe she does like you. Or maybe she didn't want your friendship to fade.
Go to a comedy so you'll have a good time laughing. Horror movies aren't that much fun to watch anymore.
Reply:So that makes you.......a junior in H.S.? At this age I'm shocked by your immaturity. Why would you even consider making out at a movie? First off it's terribly uncomfortable as you sit next to each other, not facing each other. Also, and much much much more importantly, show some respect for the others in the theatre. Nobody wants to see/hear a couple of pimply, pre-pubescent teens sucking each other's faces in public. Grow up.
Reply:Go for it dude. Put yourself out there. You may regret it if that's not what she wants, but hell, if it is what she wants, you'll be making out with her. Have fun!!

What movie did you see where the audience's reactions were almost as entertaining as the movie?
My wife and I went to a mild horror movie and had almost as much fun hearing the deliberate screams from the teenagers as we did the movie itself. I think audience reactions to movies (laughter so hard you can hardly hear the dialogue, screams that jolt you as much as the movie, cheers of sincerity) are great for a movie and wonder if you experienced the same phenomenon. What movie have you saw great audience reactions?
What movie did you see where the audience's reactions were almost as entertaining as the movie?
The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Water pistols shot in the air during the raining scene. Lighters being lit as Brad and Janice were singing about the light in the window. Rice being thrown at the wedding. Not to mention the players below the screen. It was the most awesome film experience ever.
Reply:Jaws #1. The screams were the best!
Anything with Gene Wilder is funny but his 'Young Frankenstein' had the whole place roaring with laughter. I had to buy the movie and will watch it several times a year.
Reply:I agree the audience is sometimes what makes a movie better. When Alien was in the theater, I went with my brother and his wife, when the first alien jumped out of the chest, I screamed and shoved on the chair handle so hard, it went flying up the theater aisle, all the people around us started laughing so hard others was wondering what was going on. To this day my brother will still tell everyone about it and get a good laugh at my expense.

The weirdest one for me was not a movie but a preview. I forget the movie I was there to see, but the preview for the "Lost in Space" movie was followed by the audience spontaneously erupting into a very loud cheer. I have never seen a reaction like that to any review before or since.

There is a scene where one of the characters is literally sucked into nowhere in the sky. It was unexpected and very startling. This woman sitting behind us, starts screaming, really freaked out. At first, a big silence in the theater in reaction to her screams, and almost instantaneously people start laughing because her screams were really funny!

What movie is this?
This may be very vague but i really need to know this movie title. The movie had to atleast come out between 10-15 years cuz thats when i saw it. But the movie takes place in England or some where in eroupe or early colonial days in america. But its this one guy sent out to do find something and along the way he finds some other people to help him. Each one of the people have an ability that is above average. One guy can run really fast, like as fast as a bullit. the other guy is extremely strong. and one guy can hit a target i with a gun from many miles away. The movie is very out there is terms of fantasy. Kinda reminds me of the movie Labyrinth with David Bowie because of its oddball characters and story line. Who ever gets the movie from this description is problly the smartest person alive when dealing with movies.

A Clockwork Orange, Pulp Fiction, Psycho, Unforgiven, Fight Club, Silecne of the Lambs, Dr. Stangelove, M, and Reservoir Dogs.
I plan on seeing, Citizen Kane, China Town, The Shining, Battleship Potemkin, Casablanca, Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, and a number of others
So if anyone could recommend classics and great movies similar to these listed that would be great, i love things that are very psychological, or that have a strong plot with a good twist to it, though it is not limited to this.
Movie Reccomendations?
I am also an avid movie watcher, and here are some movies that I would recommend in no particular order: Powder, American History X, Black Hawk Down, Boondock Saints, Boiler Room, Carlito's Way, Scarface,G.I. Jane, Heat, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(original), Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The Jerk, Project X, Popeye(with Robbin Williams), The Toy, Seven, White Squall, What Dreams May Come, The Wiz, Backdraft, The Goonies, Crimson Tide, Primal Fear, Big Lebowski, Stir Crazy, The Abyss, Glengarry Glenross, Overboard, Color of Money...
I could keep going, but here are some definites that you should check out! If you would like some more recommendations, let me know!! Have fun!

Windows Movie Maker 2.1 makes home movies amazingly fun. With Movie Maker 2.1, you can create, edit, and share your home movies right on your computer.
--------------------------------------...

Why Are Movie Critics So Lame?
i'm watching the movie Chronicles of Riddick and i think this movie is just so awesome, i went to check what ratings it got and to my surprise they gave it bad ratings! i couldn't believe it! its a GREAT movie with TONS of action. plus this ain't the only time, movie critics give the good movies bad ratings and the lame, stupid movies good ratings. i watched no country for old men and it was a OK movie, yet they gave it so many awards and praised it so much. why are movie critics so lame..do you think they get paid to lie about ratings
Why Are Movie Critics So Lame?
In my oppinion, the reason is social polotics. Most big time movie critics like Ebert %26amp; Roeper are adults who are seen/see themselves as sophisticated members of society. despite what they say, I think that they do like those movies. They just don't want to enter it into the public offiacially that they will like it in fear that others will disagree and see them differently. The movies that most often get rared the highest are those that everyone likes a little, but nobody likes a ton. It's because everyone has different tastes. SO in short, they rate often boring movies good that are "supposed" to be good, and ones that are just entertaining but hold no super deep value poorly. I agree with you 100% on your critique of them.
Reply:Everyone has their own perception but i would say crictics really got it wrong for juno. Its was just a girl bitching her life away. No substance.
Reply:they just want to set them selves apart from other people and appear smarter or artsier or whatever. they dont usually know what they are talking about.
Reply:MORONS.!!!!High society has eatten their brain away,to the point ,it knows no good .Only the public should be allowed to rate a movie, not critics
Reply:well for starters, i didn't really like chronicles of riddick (no offense) and i can see it from there point of view. just because there is tons of action does not mean it is a good movie. i mean "jumper" had tons of action yet it was completely stupid and forgettable (in my opinion).
but i do agree with you about how they gave NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN great reviews when in reality it was just completely boring and not entertaining. and don't even get me started on the ending (or lack there of).
i think they were looking at it from an "artistic" point of view and thats fine except for the fact that movies are made to entertain, and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was just flat out boring. so it did not deserve all those rewards.
so i think they just need to find a happy median. give good ratings to movies that have an artistic feel to them AND entertain.
and no, i don't think they get paid to lie, lol
ok, i'm done rambling
Reply:Most movies that get bad ratings by critics are good and most of the ones that get good ratings are terrible. For example critics sayed "Hostel" was the scariest movie in ten years, but it wasn't. Critcis sayed,"Bug" was the best horror film ever and it was the worst horror I have ever seen.
Reply:I think they give the ratings that they think people will respect, but in reality they all loed Glitter. I totally agree though the movies I love all get like d's and c's or worst on rotten tomatoes. I like Robert and Ebert though. He seems to give more reviews that most normal people would agree with.
Reply:First of all NCFOM is a brilliant masterpiece with so many metaphors, second, movie critics seem to focus on less important things then plot and structure, for example, Siskel and Ebert reviewed Toy Story, and all they talked about was how good it looked animation wise

What is this movie called? Could it be a Guy Maddin movie?
I am trying to find out what the name of this movie is. I watched it on SBS about 8 years ago. It was a movie made in a very similar style of Guy Maddins movies. In one scene there was this man and woman who had a baby and when it was born it was like an alien. The couple lived in this run down one room apartment and looked quite impoverished. In one scene the man went to dinner at the womans house and her mother tried to seduce him. In another scene there was this really weird looking woman doing a child like dance on stage, she had a really big round head which was way out of proportion. The movie is in black and white but like I said it may be a Guy Maddin movie or someone like him as I don't think the movie is very old. It is a really strange strange movie but I would love to hear from anyone who may know what it is. It is a very similar style of production to that of Guy Maddins - the saddest music in the world. Any clues??? The whole movie was quite trippy.
What is this movie called? Could it be a Guy Maddin movie?
What you're describing sounds a bit like David Lynch's 'Eraserhead'.

Movie Ideas (Low budget, one day of taping, small cast movie for Sat. school.)?
I need your help to think up a third movie to go along with the first two movies. Movie 1: Two bad guy's A and B abduct a rich girl in the bathroom of a cafe. they plan to sell her jewlery and hold her for ransom. two cops C and D listen to a few eyewitness acounts and try to figure the case out. Meanwile, A tries to sell the girls jewlery, but the buyer calls the cops (C and D) They find A and B, catch them after a shootout and find the rich girl. A and B go to jail Movie 2: A and B get out of jail on parole. They decide that they need to get money and decide to abduct C, the cop who put them in jail, after reading that she's going to get a medal for her efforts. D is mad that he doesn't get a medal and decides to join the bad guys. Together they abduct C and hold her for ransom and sell the medal to a well known rapper Smaczny Smak. (Polish for Flavor Flav.) The cops come, chase them, and catch them. Flav, D and A and B go to jail.Make a 3rd movie to go along with these.1dayoftaping.

Short movie survey!!?
1.What movie or movies are you anticipating to see?
2.What was the last movie you have seen at the theatre? How was it?

4.What is your least favorite movie genre?
5.What is your all time favorite movie?

Short movie survey!!?
1.What movie or movies are you anticipating to see?
I really want to see Atonement! I read the book and it was amazing :] And of course, as an avid reader/lover of the Twilight series, I'm anticipating Twilight!
2.What was the last movie you have seen at the theatre? How was it?
I saw Charlie Bartlett last in the theatre. It was a funny, eccentric film. I was entertained. :]
3.What is your favorite movie genre?
I like a lot of different genres; anything with a great story line can get me. I like action movies like The Departed, Fight Club, and The Bourne trilogy. I like adventure movies (The Pirates trilogy, for example) romantic comedies and dramas, some comedies like Meet the Parents (nothing like those teenage high school party movies like American Pie. Give me a break!), and Superbad. I like musicals and romances, and some sci-fi, mostly with vampires and werewolves, though. I especially like historical, period-piece movies. I'll watch movies adapted from books, but I judge them harshly because I usually have read the book first.
4.What is your least favorite movie genre?
I don't watch many kung-fu movies, and I don't particularly care for many horror/gore movies.
5.What is your all time favorite movie?
This one is hard! I like the Pirates trilogy, Moulin Rouge, and Across the Universe the best ;]
6.What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
The Ring. I am sorry to whoever likes that, but I didn't think it was scary. It was lame, too. And there's an indie film my sister made me watch called "Elephant." Horrible waste of an hour and a half of my time. It was confusing, it was poorly acted, and there was absolutely no consistency.

3. my favorite genre... zombie... does that count as an entire genre on it's own??
4. my least favorite genre... girly-teeny-bopper-dance-usa type of movies (mandy moore, brittney spears, lindsey lohan, etc)
5. my all time favorite movie "the Lost Boys"
6. worst movie i've seen was... "House of 1000 corpses" - dumb... just plain DUMB...

Shakespeare movie?
Hello,
I suggested my english teacher to show us a movie and it ended up with me having to get the movie. He first wanted me to get a movie from 1960 or something but, after much debate in the class we convinced him for a modern movie. Anyways, if anyone could tell me a movie based on a shakesperian play which would make both my classmates (the average 17-year old that doesn't even look at the movie title if it's older than 2000) and my teacher (who wants a movie without guns or insults) happy.
Shakespeare movie?
romeo %26amp;julet..but that has guns
or 10 things i hate about you...thats based on taming of the shrew.
Reply:Try 'Hamlet' starring Mel Gibson. Very faithful to the story.
Reply:romeo and juliet is good. Very modern twist lots of guns an stuff. The film 'O' is set in highschool and based on otherllo there's also 'get over it' which is also in a high school and features the play a midsummer nights dream, but the movie itself also actually based on that play
Reply:"Prospero's Books" by Peter Greenaway, based on Shakespear's "The Tempest"
Reply:Richard III with Ian McCellan. It has guns, though, since the whole movie was set in WWII.
Looking for Richard with Al Pacino. Haven't seen it but it's supposed to be good. More like a documentary.
Reply:Without guns or insults? Has he not read Shakespeare? Doesnt he know that just about every Shakespeare film has insults in it? Why would he be so afraid of them - chances are they would be too clever to use today, cos most people would not get them sadly.
Anyway, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet is amazing, though your teacher will HATE the mind blowing first scene. And Richard III with Ian McKellan in it is awesome - lots of insults, lots of guns - but it is set in the middle of a war, for crying out loud!
But at least both those movies will keep your class happy. And both of them are from the 90s.

Movie title?
I thought the movie was Cruel Intentions but I was messing that one up with a different one. I was just curious if anyone knows the other movie I was messing it up with. I only remember certain parts but here they are:
The movie has a bunch of highschool or college kids.
One of the couples want to have sex but they don't have protection so they are trying to use like shaving cream or something.
At the end of the movie one of the rich kids is riding in the limo he owns and he hits this girl that goes to his school and is riding her bike. He takes her into them limo and stuff.
I think the whole point of the movie was this group of guys trying to change all the prude girls.
I'm only curious because my sister and I were just watching cruel intentions and I can't remember the title of this movie.
Movie title?
That would be Cruel Intentions 2
Reply:Yup it's Cruel Intentions 2. The first one is a ton better :) I'm pretty sure the prude girl was in a relationship with Sebastian's sister too.... kinda messed up lol.
